Yara Martinez is an American actress.
Biography
Martinez was born in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico and raised in Miami, Florida. Prior to beginning an acting career, she practiced ballet for ten years. She began her career on television with guest-starring roles. In 2007, Martinez landed a supporting role in the film The Hitcher. She later returned to television and had number of guest-starring and recurring roles on TV series. She portrayed Mariella Moretta in the TNT crime-drama Southland from 2009 to 2011, and Theresa Lopez on the ABC Family drama The Lying Game. Martinez also had recurring roles on Vanished, The Unit, Breakout Kings, and Nashville. In 2012, she became a regular cast member on the short-lived prime-time soap-opera Hollywood Heights.
On Criminal Minds
Martinez portrayed Tara Rios, a survivor of serial killer Johnny Ray Covey, in the Season Eight episode Nanny Dearest.
