Whitney Nees Able is an American actress, writer, and producer.
History[]
Almost nothing is known about Able's early life, other than she was one of three children born in Houston, Texas. She launched her acting career with a role in the low-budget 2005 film Age of Kali. She then starred in the direct-to-DVD 2006 film Dead Lenny. Able next gained a role in pilot episode of the failed TV show Secrets of a Small Town andd also had a role on the show Rodney. However, her breakout role was in the 2006 horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, in which she portrayed a cheerleader named Chloe. Able then appeared in guest roles of popular TV series including CSI: New York and Cold Case. Able also appeared in several independent films before she landed the leading role in the 2010 film Monsters, a low budget sci-fi horror film. The movie was critically acclaimed. In the same year, Able gained a role in the fantasy film Tales of an Ancient Empire.
Able married actor Scoot McNairy in 2010 and mothered two children with him before they divorced in 2019. She was ranked #83 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list. She was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actress for her role as Kate in the 2015 Dark at the Oldenburg International Film Festival in Germany.
