Yes.Your description is correct but reverted back to the original version plus he added some new statements. that a Dao was a variant of scimitar or something. That's just lol cause nobody in kung fu class says let's practice scimitar.

I don't remember the username .It was probably 2008 or 2009. I just came back after 9 years and saw that nothing had changed on the scimitar page. :) The best way I guess is to ask James Lew himself on Facebook to confirm.
