Bookend Quotes[]

  • Spencer Reid: Wayne Dyer once said, "How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours."
  • Derek Morgan: "Our moral responsibility is not to stop the future, but to shape it; to channel our destiny in humane directions and to ease the trauma of transition." — Alvin Toffler

Trivia[]

  • The episode was initially officially named "The Boys of Sutton Place", but the title was later changed due to issues brought up by the CBS legal department, which were unspecified.
  • The premise of the episode is mostly likely inspired by the memoir and subsequent film adaptation Sleepers. The author of the book details violence and rapes the warden and numerous guards put him and his friends through while they suffered in juvenile detention, which is followed by the murder of the warden by his friends and a use of the justice system and news circuit to expose the guards and get them punished instead of the group of men.
