Not much is revealed about Gerace's background besides the fact that he was an Irish-born low level gun runner who had a close encounter with Ian Doyle in Belfast. Doyle tried to kill him by slashing his throat, leading to Gerace, who got a distinctive scar on his throat as a result, wanting revenge but later gave up on it. At some point, he moved to the U.S. and in 2011, resurrected his plan of revenge when he was contacted by Chloe Donaghy, a former lover of Doyle, who recruited him and another enemy of Doyle's, a high-level arms dealer named Lachlan McDermott, for an operation to abduct Doyle's son, Declan, and get money from McDermott.
It Takes a VillageEdit
After somehow tracking down Declan to his boarding school in Virginia in the events of the episode, Chloe goes there and serves him and some other students tainted cupcakes, causing Declan to suffer food poisoning and be sent home. At night, Gerace and Chloe break into the house, having Gerace disable pole cameras set up by Morgan earlier, and kill two FBI agents sent to the house and also Declan's nanny, who is brutally beaten to death by Chloe. They take Declan to one of McDermott's warehouses, where Chloe later kills Gerace with a shot to the forehead so she and McDermott wouldn't have to share the ransom with him.
It is unknown if Gerace has committed any murders prior to joining Chloe's Gang. He could have killed one or two FBI agents using blunt-force trauma.
No specific profile was made on him by the BAU, who focused on only profiling Chloe and Chloe's Gang.
- Presumably committed several other crimes prior to It Takes a Village
- September 8, 2011: The attack at Declan's home:
- One to two unnamed FBI agents (both apparently killed by blunt-force trauma to the head)
- Declan (Chloe and Doyle's son; abducted; was rescued)
