  • Do you believe that the Outlaw Bikers (William Duke Mason, Lester Turner, and Benjamin Wade) can be considered workplace shooters, because they committed each of their shootings in their victims workplaces (restaurants, gas station, pharmacy, etc.) and planned each of their killings. Also, despite Hotch's profile of workplace shooters being stated in The Storm, it is not an official profile of a workplace shooter made by a real-life FBI profiler.

      Loading editor
    • No I don't. I think you may be taking the term too literally. Just because someone fires a gun in a workplace doesn't mean they fit the pathology of a Workplace Shooter. While I don't believe being an employee of that workplace is a requirement, you have to take into account why the unsub was there. Was their intention purely to kill the people who worked there? The Bikers went there to rob the places, Luke Dolan only went to the office to talk to his friend but because of his condition, it turned into an office massacre. Not everything is cut and dry.

While that is true, you have to remember that several real life FBI profilers consult with and take part in the production of the show, so I would doubt even in making things dramatic, they would let them portray something about their work that was extremely inaccurate.

    • Def not workplace shooters. The 'workplace' had nothing to do with it, they were simply there to commit crimes and leave. Not to mention they were not employed there, nor did the place have any significance to them. The same can be said for Willie Kestler and Darrin Call; the latter shot some people at a pharmacy, but that does not make him a workplace shooter.

  • I don't mean to be a bother and I don't mean to be a nag, but when you said that it will take a while for you to do these articles because of technical difficulties, are you saying that it will take days until these articles are complete?

    • I mean I've asked someone to take a look at something from the episode but I'm waiting to hear back from them. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I'll just press on with what I think but that's only speculation which is why I've asked for help from someone who's not on the wiki staff who is more of an expert than I am in this particular area. I've just been finding several mistakes from the old adminstration in our pages that have been there for years and I'd like to avoid making anymore. It's embarrassing for this to happen on the wiki multiple times.

  • Hey Reese,

Over the last few weeks I've unfortunately haven't been extremely active nor watching the latest episodes, due to real life plus work on other wikis, most notably summarizing for articles for The Heiresses Wiki plus I'm due for another book summary process at another wiki and have to update my Beyond Wiki for Season 2, which will premiere in January.

However, I am setting aside time for Monday's and Tuesday's where there are Criminal Minds marathons, so I can edit and update existing articles and become a me enter of the community once again. Otherwise, I do have a proposal for you.

Ever since we demoted Sec 1971 and the fact that I am packed and busy most of the time, I've thankfully left the wiki mostly in your capable hands. However, I have a proposal that I've been meaning to do ever since I adopted the wiki and made you an admin - I want to make you into a bureaucrat, which is essentially a step up from admins and are admins that can make users into, well, other admins. You honestly deserve it - from the fantastic work you have done to the way you handle users and yourself with respect and poise. There is no big pressure or further commitment for being a bureaucrat - just make sure to keep doing what you're doing and keep being your awesome self ;)

    • Wow, I don't know what to say. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely honored. This is just very unexpected. Honestly, it's been a pleasure doing that work and working with the people here. All this is a team effort. I graciously accept your proposal. However, there are two conditions that are non-negotiable.

One, you have to give me your word that you will retain your own bureaucrat rights because right now, you sound like someone doubting that he deserves them but I can say with certainty that you do. None of this would have happened if you hadn't adopted the site. If it weren't for you, the way things were going, I probably would have closed this account by now instead of working with such a great group of people. That's a debt I can never fully repay.

And the second condition is that you'll stop beating yourself up over not being active here. I'm not being judgemental but Sec 1971 was demoted because he practically vanished. Now I'm sure he had a good reason for his leave of extended absense but he left no word to anyone. You, on the other hand, have told someone (i.e. me) before that you'd be held up with other projects so I know you're still technically an active user. And you don't have to explain real life interfernces either. Trust me, nobody knows that more than me right now. I've been having problems with my home internet all week and just this morning, the device I do my work on seems to have decided it's time to head to the junk pile but that situation is ongoing lol. But my point is both have seriously impacted my own ability to do work this week (which is why the latest pages are so delayed) and these things happen. No one can put all of their time into a single wiki. Not only is it not possible, it's not logical. So please stop giving yourself a hard time over it. If you can find the time, great but if not, don't give yourself a headache trying to make time. You do that for me and I'm on board with the proposal.

And thanks for the kind words. It really means a lot. Personally, I think nothing of all that stuff and I rarely give it a second thought but it feels nice being appreciated for it. Thank you. Really :)

    • Of course I'm planning on still being a bureaucrat :) And I am not giving myself a hard time (though I see how my message can conclude that). Juggling projects is becoming easier now that I've outlined a schedule for what wikis need me each day.

And I've given you bureacratic rights :)

    • I'm glad to hear that and that you understand why I was concerned. Do whatever works best for you. I've seen this half of Season 13 as one big trial run for the whole site. Our chance of getting used to a new way of doing things, finding out what works and what doesn't. Thank you very much. I'm honored that you'd trust me with these responsibilities.

  • I know for a fact that there is no new episode this week and that the new episode will air next week. But, are you able to finish these articles before it starts?

      Loading editor
    • Hi michael. Yes I will but my internet at home has been acting up all week and it's only getting fixed today. That's why I haven't been able to do anything more than minor edits here and there for the past few days. I also have a college exam today I need to get out of the way first. I'm looking to get Jeffrey done at the least when I get home today and finish Phil and Madsen over the weekend.

    • I understand. Thanks for letting me know.

    • It's no problem. I actually had big plans this week because there was no new episode but this had messed it up. So I'll be working double time over the weekend to catch up.

  • Ever since the articles of The Doomsday Preppers, Lawrence Coleman, Irene Jacobs and Desi Gutierrez have been uploaded, they haven't been placed in the Criminals section. The thing is, I don't know how to put them in the Criminals section.

      Loading editor
  • What do you think of adding a section to the Unsub criminal template stating that the criminals on the show are either organized, disorganized, or mixed (a combination of organized and disorganized)? For the serial killers on the show, the type section would state if they were mission-oriented, lust, visionary, etc. Only the serial killers who have appeared at least twice on the show have been labeled as organized, disorganized, or for the serial killers whose M.O.'s were never fully revealed, unknown, and that has only happened on the Serial Killer page, so why should this not apply to the other criminals on the show? I know that criminals who are not serial killers have appeared on the show have been classified by the BAU as organized, such as Kenneth Roberts and Andrew Meeks, and disorganized, such as Eddie Mays, Jeremy Sayer, Toby Whitewood.

I also know that the real life serial killers have been classified by actual experts, but when you read about the unsubs on the show and think about their M.O.'s and motivations for committing their crimes, it is not that difficult to determine what type of criminal each of them are. For example, John Curtis can be classified as an organized mission-oriented offender, the reason for being considered mission-oriented is because his victims were specifically targeted and he was driven by revenge. Another example is George Foyet, who because he was abused as a child and gained power from the fear of his victims' can be classified as a power-seeker serial killer. Tell me what you think of this sugesstion, as I would like for you to agree to one of my ideas in the hopes that I can continue to improve this wiki.

    • I think I can do that, but only during the Christmas break, as I will be busy IRL before then. However, I do not know how to tag images and will need the instructions on how to do so from you.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, no that's fine. Just work on it when you can. Like I said, there's no rush, I just want to have it started as soon as possible, that's all I meant. Rome wasn't built in a day. If you can find the time, great. If not, don't sweat it. You're under no pressure. And I'm not ordering you to do this either. I just see this as a favor, nothing more. I hope that's alright with you.

All you need to do is pick an image and add it to this category and you're done. That way it's somewhere I can find it easily later on. But if that doesn't work, instructions on another way to do it are on that page. Finding images currently not being used on any pages will be easy enough but if they're appearing on a user page like the header image on mine, leave them be. And if you find anything on an old talk page from before Echo Spy adopted the wiki, could you tag them too and I will review them later. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

  • Hey, Profiler10!

    Fashionable101 here.

How do you rename a sandbox?

      Loading editor
    • You would do it like any other page but I asked Zach about it. He said just copy the source code from the sandbox and paste it on the real page. Then you can wipe the sandbox and reuse it.

  • Hey, Profiler10!

    Fashionable101 here.

Happy Thanksgiving, even though you don't celebrate it, I believe.

Anyway, I know you've said this a number of times, but do you want some help with the pages? Help slipt the work-load? Maybe I could do some of the notable characters?

    Again, just suggesting.

    • Also, use one of your sandboxes to write the page if it'll take some pressure of you. That way you can do your work without worrying about the live page. Give it a try.

  • Hey, Profiler10.

    Fashionable101 here.

    First off, Happy Thanksgiving!

Also, I have a few new character page ideas.

    Vicki Wright from True Night

I can't think of any more for now.

  • What would you say to adding a section to the templates for the characters on the show that states what their skillsets are? For example, John Curtis's skillset was having a genius-level intellect (since he did have an IQ of 172), being a master tactician (considering how well his revenge plan was against the BAU, despite it failing), a biochemist, an expert manipulator (since he was able to manipulate Donnie Bidwell into killing for him), an  an expert hacker, as well as his explosives knowledge. I know this is just one example, but I believe I know the skillsets for each and every character on the show. If you don't like the idea of the skillsets being part of the templates, then maybe their could be a skillset section added to the character articles.

      Loading editor
    • I like your ambition but whether or not an unsub has a skillset is not usually relevant to the profiles made of them. Curtis is a good example of an exception as is Peter Lewis. But then you have countless unsubs with no particular skills at all and if you weigh them all together, you'd find more unsubs who don't have a skillset against the ones that do. It's certainly worth mentioning in the pages where relevant but I don't think it requires a whole section on its own since our look into the specifics of Curtis' expertise and those of other unsubs (like Chad Brown or Haymen Vasher) is minimal.
