Hey, I've handled our little pest problem and reverted the vandal edits that hadn't been fixed already. I've also put a temporary protection on the pages they targeted. I extended the block to their IP address too so we shouldn't have any problems with this jagoff again.
Hey, just wanted to let you know I'm working on the Marcus Manning and Floyd Feylinn Ferell pages so don't edit them until I'm done, if you don't mind. And if you have a little spare time, there's something I'd like you to do.
Hey, just something quick I wanted to bring up with you. Now this is entirely my fault, not you in any way. I should have said something earlier. I usually ask that people to hold off on editing the new pages because it can clash with my own edits. Not clash as in disagreement but clash as in if someone edits a page at the same time as me, I could end up losing whatever I've been working on. Happened a few weeks ago with the Billy Lynch page and I lost the entire Modus Operandi section I had done and I had to do it all over again so I'm usually cautious (and by that I mean paranoid af lol).
But with the latest pages I just assumed everyone knew that's how it worked. That was my mistake. I should have told you myself. And when you edited Jake's profile it clashed with what I was doing. Now it wasn't as serious (it was a minor edit) but I just wanted you to know for future reference and that I might need to reverse the edit so I'm don't get confused about what needs to be added and what doesn't. I prefer working with a blank slate. I probably won't need to because it looks like you covered it all pretty well (nice job btw) but on the off chance I do, I don't want you feel like I'm plagiarising you because that is not my intent. I'm all about giving credit where credit is due.
And this isn't a disipline, this is just a notification. You good with all that?
Ok so I re-wrote the profile section but I mentioned that you had gotten to it first so you'll get recognised for your addition. I'm a firm believer in giving credit where it's due and you earned it here. Well done, Noah.
Just checking. It was unfair what I did with the profile and it wasn't too long ago I felt I was in that position of having someone take credit for my contribution to this wiki which is why I made sure you were mentioned so you got the credit you deserved. I just want to make sure I haven't upset you in any way, that's all.
Oh that's one thing. That's fine. I'm the same, although I'm all caught up on anything I need to do for the moment so that's how I have so much time on my hands these days. But I still have my thoughts and feelings about what happens here regardless so how you feel about it is my concern, that's all. I just feel responsible for making sure everyone is comfortable with how things are being done and wanted to see if you still are.
As far as replying, you can take as long as needed. It's only this one time there's a little importance to it.
Are you ok with how you still were given credit for the initial edit to Jake Logan's profile (when I mentioned you in my summary), even though I removed it to make things easier for myself editing-wise? You can be honest. If you weren't, just say it to me and I'll try to make it up to you going forward. It's the least I owe you, if that's the case.
Yeah, that makes sense. Now do you mean in regards of your version vs. my version or what was said in Killer App?
I felt that myself when I was comparing yours to mine in the page history but that's really how it's supposed to be. The closest we can get to what the BAU says as possible and you already did a good job of that. I only made some minor changes and expanded it a little bit. But it just was easier for me to type it all from the very beginning, instead of going back and forth between both versions and the episode to make sure I hadn't repeated myself or left out anything. But at the same time, I didn't want to deny proper recognition or commit plagarism, even unintentionally, because I think that can be a major problem on sites like this if it's not managed properly. Does that make sense?
Yeah, I think most of it was quite repetitive but that last part? There's no other real way to write it, being honest with you. You're welcome to have another go at it. Just once I've completed each section in the way I think it should be, I'm open to other people editing it and making opinions known after that. I'm not that much of a control freak but to edit, of course, you need a full article so get the bare bones of that done first and foremost then change anything as needed. After that, anyone can add (or remove) as they wish, within reason. Does that sound like a fair strategy to you? Just out of curiosity?
Hey sorry to spring on you like this but I have something I'd like you and JD to work on. Full details are on her wall. Check it out when you can please but if there's a problem or you're too busy, just let me know. Thanks Noah.
That's ok. If you're busy, you're busy. We'll manage. But if you happen to think of any unsubs who had someone abducted through a third party or a proxy, leave a message on one of our walls. We're building a list for a potential new category. Don't worry about it if you have your hands full already though. Ok?
I've asked Echo Spy for permission to add a new content moderator to the team. I anticipate that we're going to be expanding the wiki quite a bit in the next while and not just because of the new season. We've also been expanding on stuff from way back in Season One. Long story short: it'd be helpful to have an extra set of hands. Echo has approved the idea and I recommended you for the position. You've been an editor here for a while now, long before I got here and since Echo took his short sabbatical a while back, I've been I guess you could say leading the wiki and monitering the activity feed closely. And I must say I've been impressed by your professionalism. I think you'd be a good fit for the role and can be trusted to be responsible with the few extra tools that come with moderator rights. I think you'd be a valuable asset to the team.
Ok so how this will work is you'll have a two week trial run in the role as a moderator. Nothing too demanding. Just log on once a day if you can and check the activity feed. If you see a vandal's work or an edit that doesn't fit, change it back or around where appropriate. If there's nothing, great, you've done your job just checking in. And if by a slim chance the two weeks go by and you haven't really had the opportunity to actually do anything because someone else has beat you to it or nothing happens at all, I'll create a task for you if need be. After that, I'll talk to Echo about making it official.
You'll do great. Any problems or questions - just ask myself or JD, your new partner. I'm sure Jay won't mind you going to him either if you need help. Oh one last thing - is there a name you would like us to call you and what color would you like your name highlighted with. It can be anything except the colors already used. Or just choose a different shade of those colors.
Ok. I'll make it happen. Colors used so far are blue, green, grayish-blue, red and pink. But you can choose different shades of the colors already used but if you're happy with using orange, I'll do it for you.
Done deal. It can always be changed later. It's no problem. I've added your name to our admins page and you should be able to see your color and new message wall tags. I'll remove the in training part after the two week trial run is over. You ok with that setup or would you like me to change it?
Where are you taking the photos from? Netflix, or an online streaming site?
Not trying to talk down to you at all; I've just noticed that most of the photos you uploaded are of low quality, 480 quality or so, as if it was taken from "Put locker" or a free streaming site. Most of them have black bars on the bottom, some have green bars on the right hand side.
Also, with regards to Proof, the photo you uploaded has two cameras in the photo. If I'm not mistaken, Ben used the handheld camera in the background and not the black camera in the foreground, which looks like a filming camera.
