Matthew Collins "Matt" Newton (not to be confused with the Australian actor of the same name) is an American actor.

BiographyEdit

Newton was born on May 11, 1977, in New Haven, Connecticut, and raised in Guilford. His mother Jennifer is an award-winning artist who was born into a family of musicians, and his sister Becki is also an actress. He began performing in musicals and plays at local theaters while he was still in high school. Following graduation, Newton studied at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and Vassar College, from which he graduated with a BA in Drama. In 1999, Newton moved to New York City, New York, and landed roles in various TV series, including Strangers With Candy, Judging Amy, and Gilmore Girls. His first film role was in the critically acclaimed indie film Dahmer, which was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards.

Newton portrayed Jordan, the fiancé of Patricia "Trish" Davenport, who was killed by Vincent Shyer in the Season One episode Broken Mirror.
