Hayley McFarland is an American actress and singer best known for her appearances as Emily Lightman in the TV show Lie to Me and as Brooke Putner in the TV show Sons of Anarchy.
Biography
Hayley McFarland was born on March 29, 1991, and was raised by her mother in Edmond, Oklahoma. During the summers, she performed in several musical theater productions at Oklahoma's Lyric Theater, such as Titanic, The Sound of Music, and Fiddler on the Roof. While she was living Oklahoma, she began studying at Michelle De Long's ACTS Acting Academy, who she credits as sending a tape of her to a manager in Los Angeles, California.
McFarland and her mother decided to permanently move to Los Angeles in 2008. While she did first gain a recurring role in Gilmore Girls as Marcia, her first major role was in the independent movie An American Crime as Jennie Likens, the fifteen-year-old sister of Ellen Page's character. In 2008, she appeared on the TV show Criminal Minds as Katie Owens, a teenager who is abducted, raped, and killed by the episode's unsub, Ryan Phillips.
From 2009 to 2011, she appeared on the TV show Lie to Me as Emily Lightman, the sixteen-year-old daughter of the show's main character. Also in 2011, she appeared in the show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where she played Jenna Fox, a mass murderer who is the teenage daughter of the episode's rape victim. Lastly, from 2013-2014, she has a recurring role in the show Sons of Anarchy in which she played Brooke Putner, a woman that originally hated the MC for the death of her mother, but warmed up to them as they helped her dad keep their house.

McFarland portrayed Katie Owens, a victim of a pack of abductors and rapists, in the Season Three episode 3rd Life.
