Trevor Burkett is a rapist who attacked the sister of budding serial killer Sheila Harrison. He appeared in the Season Nine episode of Criminal Minds, "What Happens in Mecklinburg".
Background[]
Little is disclosed about Burkett's personal life, other than he was born in 1991 and attended Mecklinburg State University. He at some point became a member of the Beta Sigma Delta fraternity and was also on the college football team alongside Adam Richmond, being coached by Michael Smith. On February 16, 2013, he and Richmond attended a fraternity party, where they decided to rape a party guest, Lauryn-Anne Harrison, alongside Christopher Stafford, another frat member. Richmond later forced Lauryn-Anne to drink vodka so then she could be discredited for being drunk once she reported the rape. The three then dumped her in front of her home, where she was eventually discovered by her sister Sheila. Lauryn-Anne later fell into a coma as a result of the attack, but Smith covered up the details of her rape with the help of Edward Calder.
What Happens in Mecklinburg[]
On April 7, 2014, over one year after the attack, Burkett was abducted by Sheila, who had abducted Smith hours earlier. This is followed by Christy White, another party attendant, the next day. Sheila then tortures Burkett by beating him with a blunt instrument and then later using it to sodomize him. Burkett confesses what he did and tries to beg Sheila to spare him by apologizing. Wanting him to suffer for the rest of his life, she then gives him a container of hydrochloric acid, tricking him into believing that it is water. After she pours it into his willing mouth, scarring and poisoning him, Sheila then dumps him in the forest, where he is found and rescued by two hunters. Burkett is last seen being taken to the hospital as Morgan and JJ watch. Though his last status update regarded him as being alive, it is possible that Burkett died afterwards due to the severity of the torture he sustained as well as the poisoning he suffered from the hydrochloric acid.
Modus Operandi[]
Since Burkett only raped one victim, the term "M.O." is somewhat misused. When he attacked Lauryn-Anne Harrison, he raped her alongside Richmond and Stafford.
